After a loud noise the dishwasher quit and would only buzz when the main motor was supposed to be running.
Primarily, I read the instructions on line and watched the great videos explaining the repair. While the DW was out, I decided to change out the Drain Pump and the Chopper Assembly, even though only the Circulation Pump and Motor was my problem. These three items are the primary mechanical wear components and it made sense to me to replace these items. Perhaps I'll get another 10 years out of the DW. Two notes about the repairs. If you replace the chopper it isn't clear in the video where exactly it fits into the housing as the video mechanic did a great job of blocking the view of this part of the procedure. It took me awhile to figure out the chopper screen didn't go in the narrow trough, but just outside of that trough. Also, to lubricate the gaskets when putting the motor and the drain pump back in, I use a light coating of petroleum jelly. It is a good lubricant to facilitate the insertion of the both pumps. The pumps slid in easily and there were no leaks when I test ran the DW outside of the cabinetry. If you have a modicum of mechanical ability this job is a very simple, straight forward process. Good Luck!

Dishes were not getting clean / Low Water Pressure
Started as dishes not getting clean and I observed that the top arm was not spinning and there was very low water pressure coming out of the jets. After making sure the water level was up to the bottom of the heating element and making sure the jets were not clogged I checked the filter and chopper. It was a little tough to get the cover off of the chopper but once I did I could see that the chopper scraper was broken off and the shaft was broken. The screen was all clogged up with stuff. Ordered a new assembly and put it in making sure to compress the spring and make sure the gears lined up. Now it is running great.
I think the Kitchenaid is the same as the Whirlpools.

Wheels broke, wheel axels disolved, other parts broken
Removed and trashed unnecessary extra "stuff" originally provided in top rack by KitchenAid. Followed installation instructions contained with parts. Pictures were poor but usable after studying them. Thanks to whoever developed the replacement instructions - would have been near-impossible without them. Customer service was efficient, polite, helpful, accurate and more than I could have asked. Thank you all

leaking from door
Removed old gasket, cleaned track and replaced gasket-also quit using Cascade pellets and went back to using Cascade powder with a numerical "rating" of 6. The pellets of even 10 caused the washer to leak, obviously too much foam would not float the float to actuate the pump.

All of the wheels had broken off and the bottom rack was hard to move.
It was very easy to pry off the old wheel assemblies with a screwdriver and pop the new ones in place. Although the part is called "wheel" it is actually the plastic piece containing two wheels. I thought it was a little confusing to just call it "wheel" as each piece has two wheels. It was an easy repair.

broken wheel on upper rack slider assembly
The left side took 20 minutes the right side took 3 minutes. The instructions do not describe how to remove the old assembly but rather just assume you have already done it. It takes one minute to see how the six parts fit together and then you just have to begin disassembling the easiest piece. The final cover removal required a flat head to pry apart two pieces held together in a pressure fit with round tabs locking them in. I was worried about breaking a piece in case the new parts didn't fit properly and I would have to reinstall the old pieces temporarily but you just have to keep the faith and open it up for final removal. Installing the new parts was simple however it would be nice if the images on the instructions were of better quality. The result was perfect and the kit feels more robust than the original parts. There is nothing here an average person can't do with a screwdriver and a little patience.

Scratches in Surface
This product comes in a bottle with a brush like Liquid Paper. It goes on incredibly easy. A second coat might be needed. I wanted to prevent rust from setting in so I covered the scratches and dings. The paint is a little brighter since my washer is 10 years old but it still looks great.

Top basket- wheels kept coming off
Removed old tracks. Note instructions do not tell you to remove the back stops one each side.... let alone how. Installing new track is really easy. Place the old lock on the track. Strange they don't arrive with a new lock, it is just a plastic insert and must be cheap. The only tricky part is replacing the rack wheels and height adjuster. If the instructions and particularly the pictures in these, were better it would all have been a breeze. Really worth the effort though!

Wheels were broken off the original upper rack assembly.
My husband and I are both very mechanical but found this repair confusing and difficult. No instructions on how to remove old parts and when I called service department was told parts had come from the manufacturer and they had no idea. Like a puzzle in reverse we finally were able to get the old parts off. The instructions for installing the new parts were confusing and the pictures blurred and not much help. I suspect they were poor photocopies from a service manual. That said, once we figured out how to install the first side the other side went smoothly and the repair was successful. The replacement parts are of substantially better quality (stainless steel) than the original plastic ones.
