leaking dishwasher
took the door off after several failed attempts, which is easy to do - 2 scews. Then it was easier to find the channel the gasket fits into.

For all Frigidaire diswasher owners, after taking the door off, I realized it was the seal around the soap dispenser that was leaking, due to stripped screws, not the gasket. I rigged it with silicone caulk, but may have to replace that - looks easy, .

I foloowed the others who repared the same item. I really appreciated their help and input. The only thing I would add is when they said that you only have to remove the bottom 2 screws on the inside of the dishwasher door they are absolutely correct. But don't look on the very bottom of the door like I did. They are on the inside of the door, facing inside. The bottom screw on each side. Thanks for all the help.

pump failing
The pump was progressively getting noisier over time to the point we could hear it in the back of the house. The dishes were always clean though. Turned off breaker. Removed two screws attaching unit to cabinet. Pulled out unit as far as I could and disconnected power. Turned unit slightly so I could reach water connection and disconnected it. Disconnected flexible drain hose, then could pull unit completely out of cabinet. Turned on it's side so I could access the motor. Removed two screws, steel retaining clip, then motor. Came with 2 new O rings which I lubricated and replaced. Reinstalled everything and problem solved, nice and quiet. One hour 15 minutes total.

Water fill hose leaked.
It is rather easy to repair. After you remove the screws that secure the top of the dishwasher to the countertop you can slide the disherwasher out far enough to gain access to the hose. The hose pulls off after you slide the spring clips down the hose far enough so they no longer grab. Then simply reverse the order and you're done. Less than 30 minutes and you should no longer have to hand wash your dishes!

Replace sump gasket
#1 rule, make sure you valve off the water before removing any hoses. Remove wire trays inside dishwasher and then pull out dishwasher far enough to disconnect water line and power cord. Remove center piece and screen covering sump inside the dishwasher. Turn dishwasher on its side and remove hoses to sump and pump. Disconnect power to sump pump. Loosen retaining nuts that secure the sump and remove. Replace old gasket on sump with new. Turn dishwasher upright. Be careful with placement of new gasket when reinserting sump so that the gasket doesn't come out of position and the sump is centered properly. Secure with retaining nuts from bottom. Reconnect power connector and hoses to sump. Pour enough water into the dishwasher to verify gasket doesn't leak... look with flashlight under dishwasher for signs of water dripping from sump. Reinstall screen and centerpiece in sump inside the dishwasher. Reconnect water line and power cord. Run through wash cycle while monitoring for leaks under dishwasher. Reinstall wire trays.

Piece of cake as long as you get the gasket installed properly and the sump centered correctly... do not overtighten the retaining nuts or it may force the gasket out of position when the screen is secure with the center locking piece over the sump.

Handle assembly for dishwasher broke
After being told by a repairman that it would be cheaper to replace the dishwasher than to fix the handle I found this sight. When the part came in I simply removed 6 screws for the control panel. Once that was off the handle assembly was connected by two screws that required a different tool (allen wrench). I removed those screws unplugged the 4 contacts that connected to the old assembly. Plugged them to the new part and reversed the process with the screws. Works like it is new and I am oh so glad to prove the repairman wrong!!!

no lights on the front of the Frigidaire dishwasher
I ordered a PS12365196 BOARD from PartSelect that arrived in 2 days, a few lights came on but still did not work, next I called back to get the PS8689162 Control Assembly, (this took another 2-3 days) this has the buttons on the front that usually light up when you set up and run the dishwasher. Still no luck so i had to try and understand this as there really isn't much more to the control of the device. Went back in, by now I can take this apart in about 5 minutes, replaced the original control board and it stared right up! Called PartSelect and a few minutes later confirmed the return of the 1st part which did not seem to work. Got to go as my email just arrived with return instructions...
