Dishwasher quit
After doing dishes by hand for four months, I decided to take a look at the dishwasher. It took about 40 minutes to identify the problem and order the part fom PartSelect. The part arrived in two days and took two minutes to install. It's best not to rush into these things.

Bought a manufactured home
with a dishwasher. Someone had 'packed' the silverware basket and there wasn't one in my dishwasher! Ordered one from here, when it arrived, opened the box, opened the dishwasher and placed it in the correct place. Closed dishwasher - DONE!

upper dishrack needed replacement
In order to replace the upper dishwasher rack I needed to remove the end stoppers on the sliders. They were difficult to remove and one of them broke. I then ordered new end pieces. The new ones had been redesigned and were very easy to insert. If you need to replace the upper rack be certain to order new endpieces along with the order for a new rack. They are quite inexpensive.

Old rinse aid fill cap broke off at base
I removed the broken stub of the old fill cap with a screw remover. This was the only part that wasn't easy. The new cap fit fine.

Hard to get end caps off -broke them
My dishwasher used this part # as a substitute for the original part, which i guess is no longer made. After reading the other customers' comments,I thought people were describing two very different experiences with the installation -- some just "popped the cap off the end," or "couldn't be easier." Others had so much difficulty getting the cap off that they broke the cap. I think people must be dealing with totally different kinds of plastic caps. When I started on mine, I couldn't find a way to just "pop" the cap off. It was made so that some small flexible stems or prongs that slid in when installed could not be slid back out. I used a pliers to twist, poke, tilt, bend, whatever I could do to get the plastic cap off the end. That wasn't working, so I tried to bend rims the metal track open, but found the metal was too thick or strong for me to bend it. So I had to twist and force the cap, and the piece that kept the cap on broke off. On one side of the rack it was broken so badly that it couldn't be put back on--kept falling off. Had to try to crimp the rims of the track inward to keep the cap on. It's very loose but it has stayed in for the most part. The cap on the other side cracked enough to get it out without completely breaking off a piece. It went back in better than the first side. Pretty frustrating! I suspect because I don't have the original part with replacement caps to slide in. ?????

Dishwasher would not drain properly
On this model the panel under the door can be removed by unscrewing two hex screws on the upper panel and two phillips head screws on the lower vent panel. The drain solenoid is located on the left side of the pump and can be accessed easily without pulling the dishwasher out from under the counter. The solenoid is held in place with two phillips head screws, and the plastic actuator that is attached to the valve stem is simply press fitted on and held in place with a retaining ring. All necessary parts are included in the repair kit.

Upper rack was rusting and falling apart
To remove the old upper rack, I needed to use a screw driver to snap out the plastic end stops. That took a little time, because my dishwasher is located in a corner of my counter/cabinets, making the stop on the right very difficult to get to. Once that was done, I just slid the old rack out, the new rack in and replaced the stoppers. I was very impressed with your service and received my order in less time than stated on my order form. Will definitely use you again and recommend you to others!

multiple rust spots on the old rack
Original part no longer made. Substitute too small by a half an inch. Corrected the problem by removing the 4 corner wheels from the old rack and put them on the new one. Now, it fits and works perfectly.

Leaking, not cleaning
Followed the directions. I've done this before. I used to fix these things for a living. The metal clip in front of the seal wouldn't come off. I ended up pulling the shaft out of the drain flapper in the pump which ruins the pump. A 14 year old DW isn't worth a pump. So I bought a new KitchenAid. The seal should come with a new metal clip since you may have to destroy it to replace the seal. If you are buying a seal, buy the clip.

Old pump leaking
The motor/pump Kit I purchased could fix/be installed in any GE dishwasher made since 1970. I would guess that the one I have is about 15-20 years old. I encountered only one small problem with the kit------ a motor hanger that had to be bent a bit to fit correctly. Other than that it was a total breeze. The clear instructions included in the kit helped quite a bit. In 30 minutes or so ,I was done and our machine was back in operation
