1. Turned off circuit breaker
2. Pulled out dishwasher
3. Disconnected switch and popped out switch
3. Popped in new switch and connected
4. Pushed dishwasher back into place
5. Turned on circuit breaker
6. Turned on dishwasher and it worked

I followed You-tube instructions, very clear but not easy.
The door had to be taken off the dishwasher and then disassembled into its two halves, front and back, in order to remove the old handle and install the new.

Removed two latch screws and one electrical connection, Removed
two screws that hold D/W to countertop, pulled D/W out enough to remove the old latch, install new latch, push D/W back into place, rescrew to counter top and rescrew the two latch screws. This problem happened since new, had repairmen twice and they did nothing but move the dishwasher stating it needed alignment, never mentioned this easy repair....

Looked up the replacement part on YouTube, watched a video and followed the instructions. Part ordered was the correct part and the video showed how to access for replacing. Watched a different video for hooking up the disconnected springs that allow the door to lower and close smoothly. Whole process for repairs was less than 30 minutes.

Tub gasket was a piece of cake, remove/replace by push in. Bottom door gasket was PIA. First you need to remove the door. Then, since the old gasket is held in place with a plate that is riveted together, you must drill out the rivets. Then you can install the new gasket. But first, you must use tap to replace rivet with threaded screw - unless you can find teeny tiny rivets!

The pieces just twist and snap together. You have to align the conduit with the interacting items before sliding and snapping into place. The problem happens when the bottom rack is loaded too high and the bottom items hit the spray head.

Replaced latch

took off 2 sheet metal on the bottom, lowered the dish washer, pulled it out enought to unscrew 2 screws, unplugged the old part plugged in the new, put it back together.
Works like a champ.

The old gasket pulled right out with no tools needed,
The new gasket went in the same way.

Results:
It did help on one side, but the bottom gasket also needs to be replaced it has a couple of tears one on each end.

Next Steps:
When the bottom gasket gets here I will replace that and it should be as good as new.

Super easy repair, just removed the old latch and replaced it with the new one.

So after noticing some horrid food waste build up in my 9 year old dishwasher, I determined it wasn't heating the water during the wash cycle. I came on here to check how to replace the heating element and was surprised when the flood switch was instead strongly recommended as the first repair step.

I ordered the part, and prepped the dishwasher for the repair (Pro-tip: Clothes pin attached to the bottom of the flood switch wiring harness ensures it doesn't slip down below the opening during the part swap!). The part swap and reassembly only took 5-10 mins or so after prep and dishwasher is now heating water and running great again. Removed the top two screws that hold the dishwasher to the cabinet , remove the two screws on the bottom panel and remove the panel. Screw the levelers all of the way up and pull out the dishwasher about 6 to 8 inch. Hook the new cabe on the spring and pull around pulley and attach it to the door bracket. I replaced both cables. Reverse to complete.

Followed troubleshooting procedure to determine that defective Flood Switch caused the problem and not the Heating Element. Replaced only the Flood Switch. I also replaced a deteriorated door gasket.

De-installed dishwasher from cabinet, removed door, and tipped unit over with back of tub resting on floor.

Drain hose elbow (#326) had a crack in it. Disconnected power, slid dishwasher out and laid on its back. Hose had two pinch clamps to remove. Replace old hose with new one and used standard hose clamps. Put dishwasher back in place and hooked power back up. Entire process took less than 30 minutes. PartSelect had elbow for about $6. GE does not sell just the elbow. They sell whole pump setup for about $106.
