White latch on soap dispenser broken- would not latch
1. Remove the outside panel on the door by removing 10 phillips screws on inside of door. Outside panel will drop loose - do not let it drop.
2. There are 3 electrical plugs that will have to be removed. The first is a 2" long quick connect in the upper middle of the door panel - it will pull straight out. Remember where it makes its connection. Now the exterior door panel will drop down to the floor, pivoting on two axle screws at the bottom. The interior panel can be left vertical for ease of access.
3. The other two electrical connections are on the left side of the old dispenser and can be removed with a simple pull to the left.
4. Remove the six (6) phillips screws from the panel that hold the dispenser in position. Two retainers will also drop off, which hold the dispenser top and bottom.
5. Angle the dispenser and work toward the inside of the dishwasher, turning as necessary to remove from the opening.
6. Reverse the process for installation. Remember to reconnect all three electrical connections.

Dishwasher wouldn't clean
Once upon a kitchen dreary.
Washing dishes made me weary.
All the dishes would not clean.
Gunk clogged up my filter screen.
The lower spray arm stuck and rattled.
With flying muck my dishes battled.
The muck had won and I had lost.
The repairman said it would really cost.
And so I did a google search.
Partselect got me out of a lurch.
Correct parts were easy to choose
and service so quick I couldn't lose.
I took off the old parts and tightened the new
No tools were needed my fingers flew.
And now my dishes come out clean
I feel competent and frugal, you know what I mean?

wheels fell off dishwasher rack on bottom and melted
I read others repairs for this problem on your website and copied what they purchased. I couldn't believe how easy it was to replace them. I can't believe I lived with no wheels for about six months!

sump inlet was partially dissolved
Disconnected electrics,plumbing, and removed DW.
Replaced sump inlet by removing about four clamps.
The inlet was partially dissolved. I think what lead to this is a partial clog, of broken glass and plastic. DW works fine.

The front wheels were coming off the lower dishwasher rack.
Having ordered new axles and wheels, we easily took the old ones off and snapped on the new ones. Once we realized NOT to put the wheels on the axles before attaching them to the rack, the repair was super easy. Evidently GE had put inefficient axles on the original dishwaser and had subsequently redesigned them.

Water was not draining out of the bottom of the basin
The dishwasher was disconnected and pulled out. I turned it over onto it's side so I could get down to the drain pump. It looked exactly like the original part and fit just as well. The hoses came right off and then once it was replaced, slipped right back on. It all worked like a charm. The only problem I had was after the repair. The copper water line moved around too much and caused a leak at the connection at the dishwasher. Luckily I tested the line outside before I reinstalled it completely. I just went and bought an $11 flexible hose with new fittings on either end and replaced the copper lines. It went on easier and it sealed tight.

This was a pretty easy repair and I am glad I did it. We were on the verge of just buying a new one, but for a $35 part and a couple hours, it was well worth it.

plastic hinge arm link broke causing door to flop open
First I had to unscrew screws under the counter then pulled built in dishwasher out from under the counter, attached hing arm link to right side bracket on door, and the other end I attatched to a spring at the back of the unit. Thats it! and pushed the dishwasher back into place. All back to normal....by the way Im a 67 yr old great grandmother...

Lower rack on my dishwasher had rusted out, due to use, wear and tear, normal use
I took out the old rack and put in the new rack. Took about 20 seconds tops. But I had thought I needed to order the wheels (8 of them) and the wheel attachments (8 of those, too) separately because when you go to order the rack, it is suggested that you buy those, too. But the rack came with all the parts I needed so I ended up returning the stud rollers. Very happy with the product and the friendly service.

Broken drawer slides
The repair was very easy, I just had to replace some bad bearing slides in the drawer pull. Remove the end cap, remove the top drawer, remove the old bearing slide from the drawer slide and snap the new one in. finally replacing the end caps.
Ordering the parts was easy and delivery was fast.

Door handle actuator was broken.
I removed the screws on the inside of the door assembly, which allows the inside of the door to seperate from the outside. The escuchen (control panel) was easy to remove - the handle actuator is inside the control panel. The handle assembly was easy to take apart and re-assemble with the new handle and spring. I then inserted the control panel back into the outside door and reattached all of the screws with a power drill. This was a repair that a GE-authorized service tech told me was going to be over $540 - he claimed the control panel and door handle/actuator was a single assembly. In the end this repair cost me $14 in parts and 15 minutes of time. I complained to GE Consumer Affairs and they rebated the tech house call back to me in 5 business days.

Soap dispenser latch broke - never worked right
This was a piece of cake. The original soap dispenser never worked right and always left unused soap. The new part was easy to install and works great. Only needed a 1/4" nut driver and philips screw driver to pull the outside panel and replace the module rinse and cap assy. Easy!

Sump was leaking from previous repair person
Removed Dishwasher, inverted it and replaced the sump housing. There are 2 screws mounting the top of the dishwasher to the counter, a water connection and the electrical connection. Remember to turn the water off and the electricity off. Slide the DW out on carpet. Carried it to the garage to affect the repair. Reinstalled the dishwasher. Most difficult part of this is that the water hose is really short. I used a 6ft extension so that the next time I have to pull this out it will be easier.

Removed front Door panel, by removing screws from back side of door, replaced pump, door handle actuator & spring. I did not have to remove the dishwasher from the counter (built in). Repairs took all of 20 min. and dishwasher was back in service. The price I paid for all the parts from PartSelect, was less then G.E. Repair Service wanted just to come out and look at the dishwasher ($99.50 plus parts & labor). The parts that online G.E Appliance was selling were about 25% to 40% higher in price. With total cost I figured I saved about $250.00 to $325.00 by doing it myself and the help of PartSelect.
