Gasket leak
First I pulled out the old gasket and replaced with the new one. The new one is too long on purpose but only had to be trimmed a little for a perfect fit. Very easy and now no leaks.

Latch handle broke due to age and heat stress on plastic.
The repair was relatively easy and I probably saved enough money as to not have to buy another dishwasher. The part alone was $42. A service call and installation would have made it not cost effective to fix.
The control panel is loosened with phillips head screws on the inside of the door. The latch is attached with the "star" shaped screws. I did not own one of these drivers so I had to leave the house to get one. I used pliers to disconncet the clips from their connections as to not pull the wires from the clips.

Dishwasher leaking water on my hardwood floor
I recently bought a vacation home in New Hampshire, and had a very detailed home inspection performed. The dishwasher unit was checked out to be in fine shape. Before moving in, I had all the hardwood floors refinished, including the kitchen, and everything looked great. After moving in and using the dishwasher twice, it developed a major leak coming from the bottom of the unit. "Here goes more money that I don't have, to hire an appliance repairman to fix this leak!" I decided to take the bottom kick panel off the dishwasher to see where the leak was coming from. It was coming from the the connection of the heater element at the bottom of the dishwasher. I found a brass nut had been cracked and wouldn't stay tight any more. I ordered the replacement nut from Partselect, RECEIVED IT THE NEXT DAY!!!!! using regular ground shipping, and installed the new nut using a socket set, and tested the unit. No more leaks!! Partselect saved me at least $150.00 on a service call for a $3.50 part. I'm not the handiest guy around, but even this was easy!
I also scored big points with the wife on my handyman repair! Thanks Partselect!

Cap would not close
At first I wasn't sure; I thought I had to buy the inner panel of the door. Considering that I have to minimize expenses I made it a point to tackle the problem myself. I unscrewed the outter panel off the dishwasher door and located the dispenser from inside of the inner door panel.
I unplugged the old dispenser, which was damaged, unscrewed it from the panel and removed it. I cleaned any and all debris, dirt and soap scum it had accumilated over the short years we've owned it.
Finally; after I prepared the new dispenser for installation, I placed it in position screwed it in and plugged it in, which was slightly tricky because it is pretty snug against the inside door panel. Once installed, I got my older son, 15, to help me screw in the outside panel of the door, and as he held it I screwed it on the the inside panel.
I tested it with no dishes inside by pouring just a little detergent in the new dispenser, starting the dishwasher and I stuck around in case there were any leaks or any other possible disaster that could occur.
This was exactly one week ago and all is still well. By the way, the person who took my order, I believe her name was Joann, was great. She talked to me making certain I had the right part, which I was unsure of since the diagram on your site was not quite clear. On top of that; I didn't pay for overnight service, yet my part was at my door the next day. I was amazed at the quick service and delivery. Thanks Joann!!!

Dishwasher hose had hole in it. It was 23 years old.
After getting a totally incorrect length of hose from partselect.com . Went to local hardware store and bought hose for $3.00 vs $20.99 + $10 shipping!
Partselect sent replacement hose of 24 1/4” vs the original hose of 27”. Good luck getting any response from them once they have your money!

There were 4 zip ties holding old silverware basket on to bottom rack snip them, remove basket install new basket with zip ties both ends 2 more in middle about 1-2” apart. Try to install ties about 1/2 way up on basket so it doesn’t get top heavy.

Dishwasher overflowed when it was not running.
My husband had the water shut off to the dishwasher, he unplugged the electrical connection then disconnected the inlet water pipe with an adjustable wrench. Once that was done he disconnected the water inlet valve from the frame of the dishwasher and installed the new one , he then reconnected the inlet water pipe and the electrical connection , once that was done he opened the water valve feeding the dishwasher and checked for leaks which were none. Took him about 15 minutes to do it . Make sure you have the proper tools and a roll of Teflon tape before you start the job.

The water inlet valve cracked and fell off-again!
FIrst I had to turn off the water supply, remove the bad part and cap off the copper water line.
I found the correct part on line and ordered it. When the part came, I uncapped the water line, doped the ends and refit the valve. Turned the water on an voila!. I actually did it! I was pretty proud of myself. It only cost me the price of the part and not a plumbers fees as well.
