RC8400XAN0 Whirlpool Cooktop - Instructions

I removed old parts and cut feed wires. Applied new wire leads, secured with supplied wire nuts, positioned shrink wrap insulators to formed wire connections and shrank with hair drier. Inserted wire lead connectors into the phenolic housings and attached housings to brackets. Closed top and installed new burners. No fuss no muss. All parts fit and stove is ready for another 20 years.

Cut the two wires approx 1 inch behind old connector and removed one screws to remove old connector, stripped approx 3/4 inch off the wires and connected them to the new wires on the new connector with wire caps and shrink wraps which came with the new connector. Replaced the old screw with the new screw and the job was completed. Be sure and disconnect power before starting!!

We read comments by other DIYers and then looked at the video on YouTube. Our range is old and the screw holding the clamp for the block was too tight to remove so we removed the block from the old clamp and left clamp intact. Turned the circuit breaker off. Cut the existing wires and wired the new block to them. Put the block back into the old clamp, put new surface burner in and good as new. My boyfriend and I did it together but I could have done it myself - it was that simple. Thanks PartSelect for quick delivery and excellent DIY info.

I shut off the breaker checked for power then cut old plugs making sure to allow a little slack. Tightened down wire nuts put on a couple wraps of electrical tape and that was it. Burners work great now I would reccomend this product to anyone with a similar problem.

It was a very easy fix. I followed the instructions that came with the kit and cut the original cable. Everything you need is in the kit; very few parts. Piece of cake and saved a lot of money an appliance repair person would have charged. This burner works better than the rest. I'm seriously considering replacing the other three blocks.

Unplugged the old one and plugged in the new, which you sent promptly. No tools. Easiest fix ever.

My husband broke the cilp in our rental unit when I had the burners out to clean them. It was a piece of cake to install! I just attached the clip with the screw and nut provided. This website was great because it was so easy to find the part. Whirlpool's website had no images of this part and terribly inadequate descriptions. I guess they'd rather I buy a new range... I'll be back if I need appliance parts in the future!

Took the old burner out and inserted the new one. The burner was received two days after ordering. I was very satisfied with the service.

Searched the internet for the replacement part, placed the order and then disconnected the old one and inserted the new burner prongs into the socket. Worked perfectly!!!

I noticed that one of the burner blocks was completely burned and the others were corroded. I ordered blocks for all four burners. Installation was easy except for one block. The screw holding the bracket to the range top was completely corroded in place. I used a correct size easy-out, which is a left hand tap and drill, to remove the screw. That took about five minutes, including tracking the easy-out down in one of my many toolboxes. The entire replacement of four blocks took about one and a half hours. Stove top cooks like new on all burners! The part kit had all the right parts and they fit like a glove!

After turning off circuit breaker to the stove, I removed all surface units , removed the 4 screws holding the top and lifted up. The plug in was burned out (the wire was burned). Look at the old plug-in so as to be able to match the new one and insert the pre- crimped end of wires into the block and the block into the metal holder that matches your old one. (The kit comes with 2 different metal holders)After this, cut out the old wires and wire nut the new wires with the stove wires. Put shrink wrap protector on the wire nuts and heat to shrink it tight.attach the block to the stove top and wa la its done. Very easy.

Ordered wrong part at first caused me to blow out two elements. With the help of PartSelect I was able to get the right surface block terminal and replaced both of them, then found out I had a bad switch, they got the switch within 2 days I had my stove working good again. New electric stove was out of my price range. I ordered one electric burner and 3 drip bowls. looked at part select instructions and repaired 2 that didn't work. Now next month I'll order one more part to fire up the last burner. Also following their clear instructions and I'll have a full working electric stove for a little over 100.00 dollars, as opposed to a new one at over 900.00.Thank you for your help.

remove burner by hand and remove old drip bowl replace with new bowl inspect burner for ware and insert back into slot.
