When the gas burner valve knob is depressed and turned, this part creates a spark that lights the gas and starts the burner.

This valve will automatically cut off the flow of gas when it reaches a certain pressure.

Burner valves are attached to the main gas line. When the switch is turned the gas then flows into a tube that mixes with air, creating the appropriate mixture for ignition.
