The burner was shortening out and would work sometime. The first time I replace the burner but the new one shorted out quickly.
I unplugged the stove. Took out the burner and removed receptacle by pulling it out of the bracket and clipping the wires. One thing you want to make sure is that when you clip the wires from the receptacle you're replacing you leave enough wire so that you can connect them to the wires on the new receptacle when it is in place on the stove. I had just enough but would have liked more. The bracket I received didn't match the one on the stove so I used the one on the stove since the receptacle itself was the same as the one I was replacing.

Over the years the numbers has worn off the knobs.
Fed-Ex delivered the package and within 10 min I had open the package, removed the old knobs and installed the new ones, My wife was very impressed with the ease of the transactionl. It is good to know that we can still get parts for our cook top even though it is 26 years old. Thanks for every thing.

Receptacle had become bad poor connection.
First I disconnect the breaker. I removed the defected receptacle and cut the wires. I connected the new receptacle with parts with the new part. Turned the breaker back on and everthing worked fine.

My 8 inch stove top element would not heat
I first replaced the element and the receiver. This required splicing lines which was very easy. It still did not heat (even though my element indicator light was on) so I replaced the switch regulator. This took a little time because of the small space on my model. In fact, I had to replace a wire that had shorted by splicing a 3 inch section into it. When that was done, I simply re-connected the 5 wires in the original positions and reattached the cover. It works like a charm and my wife is delighted because we are hosting a family reunion/baby shower tomorrow!

intermittent heat from burner
Pulled out electric heating element and replaced with new. I have had this frustrating problem for 2 years and after replacing the elements they now work like new! My only question, why did it take me so long to replace???

My drip pans had rusted and I had a hole in one of them.
I just pulled the electric element out of the slot and dropped the drip pan in place and slipped the electric element back in place and it was ready to go. It looks almost new. We built a new house in 95. It took 17 months to build it. I got the stainless steel cook top that you can have the grill on one side or you can pull the grill off and slip in the burners. It is only 4 burners but it is plenty to work with. It has a down draft.
