Front (large) element was erratic. At times it wouldn't turn on and at other times it remained on high.
I took the old cartridge out and inserted the new one. Both elements heated as they should and that side of the range top looks brand new!

My stove is a 1985 model and the coils did not heat evenly any more.
When I called to inquire if a new cartrige would fit in my 1985 model range the gentleman walked me through unplugging the old cartrige to see how it connected. I did this while on the phone with him and I then explained the connection; he told me that a new cartrige would just plug into the same place....and it did!
You had a great person at your service desk.
Thank you
