2 of 4 burners wouldn't light
Unplugged the stove, removed all 4 burner discs from the stove top (2 screws each) and disconnecting electrode wires as I pulled them out, removed the stove top, unscrewed the old module, removed the 6 wires, connected wires to the new module, screwed it into place, reinstalled the top while poking the electrode wires through the top one by one, put the stove top in place, connected the wires to the burner discs. Done, and it works! It took longer to find and order the part than it did to change it out.

Two of the four burners would not ignite when lighting the stove.
I thought the problem was with the ignitors/burners since they appeared to be worn. As it turned out, I needed the spark ignitor, which is a "brain box" located under the range cover. It connects all of the ignitor/burners and sends current to the ignitors to give it the "spark" to ignite the gas. It was really easy to replace.

Spark did not ignite one burner and sometimes two
I could not figure out how to get to the igniter until I went to the "Part Select" web site and found a post that was exactly like the problem that I had. IE: Remove two screws holding each burner, Lift off top, remove old igniter being "Carefull" not to mix up the wires when putting them on the new one, installed new igniter in bracket and mounted in position, Reinstalled top and PRESTO - it worked. First post was VERY HELPFUL. Thank you

replaced top burner - in theory simple, but severe rusting of two screws holding the burner required drilling and extracting with a screw extractor. The screws broke requiring that the entire burner pan assembly be taken apart to remove the broken nubs of screws from behind with vice grips. Recommend that you have proper sized pan head screws available when you start job so it can be finished in one sitting. Burner starts perfectly now.

The burner bowls were damaged due to wear.
No tools were needed; the old burner bowls were taken out and replaced with the new burner bowls. I would like to say the service was great from PartSelect. com. I was so happy I was able to find replacement bowls for my older drop-in range that I ordered a second set to keep for future use. PartSelect.com sent the replacement bowls quickly, and the order was processed very efficiently. Thank you!

knob stem broke off switch
I had to remove the 18-22 screws that held in the top of the stove. Then remove the nut that held the switch in place. I took a pictures as I went with my camera phone. That way I remembered which wires went where. Since there was a two day lag getting the part, i was afraid that I would forget. Once I received the part, I just reversed the process. Hardest part was getting the stove top to fit back, as the rubber insulation had expanded a little.

One of the burners would not autolight, had to be lit with match
This was VERY easy and I've never worked on this type of appliance before.

First, take off the grate, thermal plate, etc that are resting on top of the stove (this is all the stuff you take off to clean the stovetop).

Then, carefully unscrew the two screws holding the burner to the gas pipe. Grab the screws and set them aside so they don't fall back into the stove, then pick the burner up off the stove.

once you have the burner a few inches above the stove surface, wiggle off the single wire by grabbing it on the metal part (not by the wire) and gently wiggling it off.

Grab new burner, push on wire and sit it on stove, use a finger in the gas pipe to align it and put the two screws in. you're done.

The front burners on my Amana stove never sparked reliably and finally stopped working altogether.
I read on this site about someone who had my same problem. He ordered and installed a new spark ignition module and after installation the stove worked fine. So I ordered a part # PS2034431 Spark Ignition Module for my Amana stove. I installed it, and it worked just fine, really for the first time since I bought the stove new. Oh well...
Taking the stove apart took a bit of study to find how to get it right, and the clothes pins were to keep the wires from slipping back through the stove top as I was putting it back on before actually hooking up the piezo units. The instructions that came with the spark igniter were pretty useless (not wrong, just useless), but carefull notes while taking the bad unit out and where each wire went made the replacement rather easy. The really tough part was removal of the burners - the small screws had deteriorated over the last 7 years, so I had to drill two of them out. I replaced all of them with stainless steel screws. This cost an hour of my time plus a trip to the hardware store.
But as I said... the stove now works fine really for the first time. Way to go, Amana!
I trust this igniter will last a lifetime.
And certainly, reading about the same problem I had and easily finding the part was a welcome treat on this site.

Ignition electrode broke
Removed the two screws that hold the element in place. Disconnected the wire to the electrode. The screw holding the electrode to the burner plate would not unscrew so I had to drill out the screw in order to replace it with the new ignition electrode. A little more time involved but if the screw would have come out it would have been a 10 minute job. When I ordered the part from you it came very quickly and I will certainly use you again when I have any other issues.

No sparking from 2 of 4 burners... Wouldn't light.
First, I unplugged power to the stove. Next, I removed the grills, ceramic burner discs, gas knobs, and glass plate (under the knobs). Next, I removed the 2 screws exposed by the control knobs. Next, I removed the 2 screws holding each burner assembly to the cook top. I then unplugged the wires attached to each burner assembly and set the assemblies aside. Now I was able to remove the top. Once removed, it was very easy to locate and remove the bracket holding the old sparking module. Then it was just a matter of removing the wires from the old module and attaching them to the new module... attaching the new bracket to the stove and then re-assemble the cook top. Honestly, this was a very simple repair... and probably took me longer to describe the steps than actually execute.

Right Rear Burner Not Lighting
I first thought the burner was bad but after some
testing realized that the Spark Ignition Module was
faulty. You have to remove the screws from the four
burners to remove them and the stove top. Then it
is a fairly easy job to replace the module. Just be
careful to reconnect the wires in the correct places
that you removed them from the old module.
