broken rubber coupling on blender base
A very flat wrench or needle nose pliers was needed. I could not get the nut unscrewed with what I had so I had to mail the unit to a service center for repair. They were able to use the part I had purchased but if I had known I wouldn't be able to do it I could have saved a little money in the shipping I had to pay when I ordered the part.

The old coupling wore off
Thanks to the good advise of those who did this before me ,I know I need a very slender wrench to get between the screwed on base of the coupling and the copy of the base of the blender.
I tried to file one myself, but the metal was too weak. Because i had the size (from what I filed), I measured and knew i needed a 7 MM wrench. I bought one at the parts store and ground it thin enough to slip into the small space and from there it was a five minute job.

Blender coupling cogs were broken
Remove blender jar to get to drive cog. Use a 1/4 to 3/8 flat open-end wrench to hold cog shaft then turn the cog with your hand CLOCKWISE to loosen. Screw new cog gear on COUNTERCLOCKWISE hand tight. Reassemble your blender and you're good to go. It takes a very thin flat wrench but even if you have to buy a set the're not very expensive. Good luck.

Just took a screwdriver and pried off the broken coupling as the instruction said with the part. Don't stress it really works and is easy. Ordered the part on Monday and recieved it on Tuesday. Great service from Partselect!

Oy, this was. Unscrewed (reverse tread) off the old broker rubber couplin easy. Stuck a screwdriver ALL THE WAY into the motor of the blender on the bottom. This stops the blender from turningg. Screwed the new one on. Piece of Cake.

coupling 'dogs' sheared off
I used a previous recommendation from the repair part of the site; in which I took off the remaining rubber from the old coupling, bent the metal disk disk that remained up to allow a small pair of pliers to grip the motor's shaft, & twisted the coupling off. (reverse threading). Then just install the new coupling. It took me longer to find my pliers that to complete the repair. Lots of great tips on your site!

blender coupling fell apart
I read other repair stories and followed the one about stopping the motor from turning by sticking a piece of a small rod into the motor fly wheel to stop the motor from turning and then turned the coupling part clockwise and removed the old coupling then when I received the new one the next day just screwed it on counterclockwise. Was a snap and I couldn't believe I had the part in 24 hours from ordering.

The coupler wore out making it impossible to use the blender
Once I received the new part the repair was very easy. However, I had pretty well disassembled the machine prior to ordering the part and had to reassemble it before making the repair. Total time was still only about 10 minutes. Thanks immensely for the help.

rubber teeth on blender worn down
My son is infatuated with things that spin. He took the blender jar off of the blender and held the bottom of it against the teeth of the drive coupler. Apparently it made a really cool noise to him, but wore the teeth down so much that they would no longer contact the metal blade coupler. I was stoked to find the part online... 10 minutes before I was online looking for new blender. I simply pryed up and off the old one, and put the new one on. Thanks to partselect I saved over 100 bucks by JUST replacing the part!

Blender blades slipping, wouldn't blend
The rubber coupling on the motor shaft was worn smooth. Easy to see the part on the drawings, cheap to buy, received it in three days normal delivery. Came with instructions that told me to pry the coupling off the motor shaft. There was no other way. I normally would unscrew it, holding the shaft or motor from turning, but that would have probably broken the motor and this time, unusual for me - I followed the 3 step instructions and it came off in one piece in one minute. Screwed the new one on and I was done. Something went right for once! A new blender would have cost $200.00. And I love to save an appliance from the city dump, to sit there and not rot, just sit there taking space for 1000 years. This is the way is used to be, and should continue to be.

Teeth on coupling broke off
Used a screwdriver to pop the coupling off snap the new one on. This was a lot cheaper to replace
than to buy a new blender.
than to buy a new blender.

coupler stripped out
I followed the advice of others who have written their story. It is very important that you know the coupler has a left handed screw pattern. I had to use pliers the entire process to unscrew the coupler and a screw driver through the bottom between the fan blades to hold shaft. I finally had to put the screw driver -gently- as far in as possible in a position that would hold the blade.

Coupling had "teeth" that were broken off.
Pried off coupling then unscrewed metal part then screwed on new part. Very easy! The only thing that was confusing was that the metal part unscrewed counterclockwise.
