Excessive shaking and banging may be caused by a worn or damaged front suspension rod. The rod supports the washer tub and helps control movement during the spin cycle. It measures about 17 inches long and 2 inches wide. Replacing it can improve smooth operation and help prevent added wear on nearby parts.
