Timer malfunction - wash cycle extended to 2 hours
I used a flat tip screw driver to remove the cover plate on the timer knob (be gentile as there are 4 flat plastic mounts that can easily break off (I broke 1). I used a radiator hose tool to depress in the center of the knob to release the 2 plastic hooks to pull the knob off. I used the radiator hose tool to gently remove the back knob plate (chrome). I used the putty knife to depress the clips on each side of the control panel (bottom front each side) and the control panel easily popped up. I rotated back to reveal back of all control modules. I used the radiator hose tool to easily depress the electrical connector clips to easily pull out the 2 wiring harness plugs. I then used the radiator hose tool to get behind and depress the stationary snap brace so I could easily slide the entire timer mechanism to the right so as to remove it. I then attached the new timer and slid to the left until the stationary snap clipped into place. I then connected both wiring harnesses. I then cleaned under the control panel w/cleaner and brillow pad as it was dirty. I then aligned the control panel so the rear bottom plastic hooks fit in the top and then rotated down and forward so the 2 metal clips clicked into place and the control panel was attached. I then cleaned the chrome back knob and attached paying close attention to the key. I then snapped the main control knob on so the 2 plastic hooks clicked into place and finally, I depressed the cover plat on the control knob aligning the 3 unbroken flat plastic mounts and I was finished in less than 15 minutes. Very easy job.
