The drain hose leaks and needs to be replaced. What is the best way to remove the top and bottom rusted clamps on the drain hose? They won't turn with a screwdriver. I tried a closed wrench, but that won't work. Maybe I just don't have the right tools. Is there any other way, conventional or nonconventional to remove the hose? Can I use a hack saw blade to saw through the clamps? Thanks!

Over time, the belts in your washer can either stretch out and sag, or become brittle and snap. When this happens, it can result in the belt losing its grip and will not be able to spin or drain the tub. If this happens,...
Unplug unit from electrical outlet. Remove two Phillips screws in bottom of front cover. Swing front cover up and off the washer. Loosen both hose clamps. Place a large rag (or several paper towels) around base of hose where it connects to the water pump. Gently loosen bottom of hose from water pump and remove. Gently loosen top of hose from tub drain and remove. Slide new hose top onto tub drain. Slip both new clamps onto hose (lower clamp screw should be on the inside of the hose so that there is no interference with rotating parts). Slide new hose bottom onto water pump. Tighten both clamps snuggly. Re-install front cover. Plug unit back in.

Exactly what was needed
We have an older model Maytag washer that was leaking. This was just the part we needed and it fit perfectly. The tube is thick and durable so it shouldn’t need a new one for quit awhile. Nice to know we can find the parts we need so easily.
