could you demonstrate how to simply change the lid on this model? My lid is rusty and I would like to replace it,.. also do you sell the replacement lid for this model? Thanks!
For model number WTW7040DW1
Hello Farrell, thank you for your question. The Lid is PS12070870. Lift the lid and remove 2 screws on hinges on both sides with a Phillips Screw driver. Take your flat head screw driver and slide in behind the left hinge at the lowest area and pull out gently. Then hold the lid and pull to the left so the lid is freed. Remove the Right hand hinge pin and you are ready for the new lid. Take the right hand hinge and screw in back in to the new lid. Insert the pin (and the lid) on the right and with the lid in place, reattach the left hand hinge. Good luck with your repair.

The original hinge broke.
The 2 screws holding the broken hinge were removed. The area around the hinge was cleaned with Scrubbing Bubbles. The new hinge pin was inserted though the hole in the washer top door into the female receptor in the body of the machine, and the two screws were reinserted into the washer top to complete the job. EASY!
