This is an original manufacturer-approved replacement part which is specially designed for use with Shop-Vac vacuums. Its purpose is to filter out dust and debris from the air that goes through the unit. Over time it will wear out and may get clogged eventually requiring a replacement to ensure the best performance. Refer to the owners manual of your model for the correct installation of this foam sleeve. Keep in mind it is sold as an individual component. Replacing it is a simple task that does not require any tools, simply remove the old and secure the new.
