This brushroll assembly is specially designed for Dirt Devil vacuums. It is an authentic OEM sourced part, not an aftermarket alternative. As this brush rotates it will help to pick up material from the floor. Over time, the bristles on rotating floor brush will wear down and no longer be able to effectively pick up material. At his point it is time to replace it. This part is made out of plastic and it is sold individually. To complete this repair your would need a screwdriver. • Make sure the unit is unplugged • Remove screws from the base • Remove old brush roller and snap the new one into place • Re-assemble and test the unit
