This part is an OEM from Weed Eater and Poulan for use with Trimmers. The drive shaft fits inside the drive shaft housing to drive the cutting head. The most common reasons for replacing the drive shaft is if the trimmer head is not spinning, the trimmer head makes noise, the engine idles but the head won't move when throttled, the drive shaft ends are stripped and the cable is kinked or broken. This part is sold individually. Here is a list of tools that are needed to replace the drive shaft a Pick or small screwdriver, Phillip's screwdriver, split-ring pliers. long-nosed pliers, rubber mallet, wrenches and/or socket set, wheel & chassis grease and a retainer replacement tool (or a metal tube or pipe that is slightly larger in diameter than the bushing housing drive shaft).
