8 Inch Shield Asm 114-9004

Debris striking your legs or a guard that vibrates during use may point to a damaged shield or loose mounting hardware. The curved cover fits around part of the trimmer head to deflect clippings and reduce contact with the cutting line. Inspect the shield, screws, mounting holes, and cutter blade before deciding what must be replaced. Match every item to the full trimmer model because shields and fasteners can differ. Disconnect the battery, cord, or spark plug before working near the head. Do not operate the tool with the guard removed. After installation, turn the spool by hand to check clearance, then test the trimmer in an open area while wearing proper protective equipment.
