This is an authentic OEM assembly which is specially designed for use with a variety of gas-powered lawn and garden equipment. Reed valves are commonly used in high-performance versions of the two-stroke engine, where they control the fuel-air mixture admitted to the cylinder. As the piston rises in the cylinder a vacuum is created in the crankcase beneath the piston. Over time reed valve will wear out and may begin to fail eventually requiring a replacement. Note, this high-quality assembly includes two metal pieces and the screw to secure them. Refer to the appropriate diagrams for your model to ensure the correct replacement procedure. A screwdriver and a wrench set will be needed to perform this repair.
