This is an OEM DC motor for a string trimmer. It is sold individually. DC motors take electrical power through direct current and convert this energy into mechanical rotation. Before doing any inspections, cleaning, maintenance, or repairs, be sure to remove the battery first. To access this part, you will need to remove the trimmer head and motor housing. To prevent over loading of the motor, make sure to keep the air vents in the rear housing free from debris at all time. Blocking vents will prevent air from flowing into the motor housing and could cause serious damage to the motor. Never force the trimer. Allow the tip of the line to do the cutting, otherwise you run the risk of cutting inefficiently and overloading the motor. Its also important to keep an appropriate line length. Excessive line length can cause the motor to overheat. If your string trimmer suddenly stops while cutting, this is a sign of an overloaded motor.
