Product Description

This is a genuine OEM replacement part. This foot pedal is designed for use with trash compactors. This foot pedal is located at the bottom of the appliance, it is attached to the footplate. This foot pedal controls the container drawer, when you press the pedal in the latch releases and the drawer opens. This foot pedal is sold individually, it is made of plastic, and it is black in color. To successfully install your new foot pedal you will need a screw driver. Unplug your appliance before repairing it.

Replacing older kitchen appliances with stainless steel - but didn't want to buy a new $900.00 Trash Compactor.
Removed Trash Compactor and dismantled the front panel, control panel, foot pedal, floor sweep and handle. Ordered a stainless steel front panel, which arrived in three days. Primed and painted the old almond-colored components flat black - looked "OK", but not GREAT ....Then, checked to see if this site had those same parts in black. Bingo! Ordered replacement parts, everything available except the control console, and then reassembled everything. Here's a tip - be careful to reassemble the electrical connections in the control panel VERY ACCURATELY! Looks like a new, stainless-steel and black appliance. I'm up about $600.00. Wife thinks I'm a genius - what's not to like about that?
