Do you have a video that I can attach the bottom element assemble? I would appreciate it very much!
For model number BOV800XL/A

Hello Ada, thank you for writing. We do not have a video sorry, however here is a repair story from a previous customer. " 1. You remove all the screws in the back of the oven. 2. Then remove the feet and bottom screws of the oven. 3. There are 5 screws that are behind the control panel that are a royal pain to get to, which have to be removed. 4. Take off the top. 5. Remove the PCB control board screws. 6. Cut the zip ties to access the heating elements. 7. unscrew the screws inside the oven to remove the heating element, and unplug the heating element. (NOTE the heating element is attached with a catch that has a button on it. If you just pull on it, this will break the connector.) 8. (This part was NOT fun) Removing the heating elements is quite hard as the ceramic ends on the side that hold the PCB are held in place by metal prongs. I couldn't find a way to get those out in a nice way. I tried using screw drivers to slide up the prongs to release and then pliers. Eventually I was able to tap them out from the other side, but that bends the holding prongs. 9. I then re-bent the holding prongs and tested to make sure they were sized correctly for the new heating element. 10. Installed the front and rear heating element, and then put it back together." We hope this helps!

Does this lower heating element work with the model BOV900BSS or do you have the lower heating element for it? I can't believe that the only option is to spend $400 for a new unit. Thanks.

If all three upper elements work as they should and only the bottom element is not working the only problem has to be the heating element itself ....Correct ? If the thermal sensor was bad none of the heating elements would work ...correct ?
For model number BOV800XL
Fix.com logo
Hello Barry, thank you for your question. Sometimes a faulty sensor or thermal fuse can hinder the work of only one element. Actually, there are two separate circuits that control the oven heating elements' functions. We would recommend inspecting the thermal fuse and sensor assembly, part number FIX12008684, with a multimeter to confirm that these are good before replacing the element. If you would like assistance placing an order, please contact customer service. Good luck with your repair!

Broken quartz cover for bottom heat element
Breville toaster ovens are not easy to work on. They require considerable disassembly to replace or repair most any item. After getting the part which was on backorder I had to almost totally disassembling the toaster oven, I was able to remove and replace the broken heater element. Best to label or take pictures of the connections to t he circuit board. I also kept the screws for different pieces in separate labeled containers. After replacing the heat elements I found the heat sensor for the inside of the oven was defective, also on backorder. Unfortunately, the part is $5 and shipping is $10. I found a used BOV-845 for $25 which is almost as cheap as buying the replacement heat sensor so I don't know if I will totally repair or just use it for parts. Like I said, the heat sensor isn't available anyway. Regards
