This is a genuine OEM part that has been sourced directly from Alpha. Ball bearings are used to reduce friction between rotating parts, which is why they are commonly used in power tools. This ball bearing is used in tile saws and angle grinders. The bearings are found on the armature of the motor in your power tools, they are what allow the armature to spin/rotate smoothly. This is a shielded bearing, meaning there are metal shields on both sides of the bearing; this will stop dirt and debris from getting into the bearing during operation. Over time bearings can wear down, due to friction and heat, which is why they need to be replaced. As the bearing wears down you will notice excessive heat coming from bearing locations, your power tool will start to make unusual sounds, and you will notice the spindle/armature not moving as freely as it once was. This bearing is made of metal, and is sold individually. Before replacing the ball bearing in your power tool make sure you disconnect the power.
