Loss of prime, pressure changes, or fluid flowing backward through a sprayer pump can indicate a check-valve problem. This hard ceramic ball moves within the valve assembly and closes against its seat to control fluid direction. Clean dried coating from the valve and inspect the ball, seat, spring, seals, and inlet path. Replace the ball if it is chipped, worn, or unable to seal, but replace a damaged seat as well. Use the equipments complete model information and parts diagram to confirm the correct valve position. Before service, shut down the sprayer and complete every pressure-relief step. Handle the ceramic ball carefully and keep all valve surfaces clean during assembly.
