This is a shoe assembly, which includes the steel shoe with a corked platen, and the three screws needed to attach it to the sander. This OEM part is a direct replacement for the original. The shoe assembly is the surface that the sandpaper belt will run against. Over time, the shoe will eventually wear out due to its consistent contact with the sandpaper belt. When it wears out this can cause irregular sanding to occur. For this simple repair, you will remove the sanding belt, and then unfasten the three screws securing it to the sander. Align the new shoe on the base of the sander and secure it with the three screws.
