This housing cap is a genuine replacement part provided by the manufacturer. It is compatible with several varieties of Porter Cable and Black and Decker routers. The motor housing cap mounts to the top of your router's motor. It allows cool air to enter the motor. At the same time, it protects the motor's electrical wiring. The cap should be replaced if it is broken or damaged. A screwdriver is needed to remove and replace the the two screws holding it in place. This is a very straightforward repair that should only take a few minutes.
