Product Description

This fan motor is used in frost-free refrigerators with a condenser coil. When the compressor runs, so does this fan, circulating air through the refrigerator grille, to cool the compressor and condenser coils. This fan motor also helps to evaporate excess water in the drain pan. This kit includes the motor, fan blade, wire harness, and screw. If your refrigerator/freezer section is too warm you may need to replace this part. This part has been updated by the manufacturer. It may look different in appearance but will still function the same as the original part. This is a genuine OEM part. Disconnect power to your refrigerator before starting the repair.

Very noisy whenever the fan came on.
Watched several online videos. Removed the fan blade, then the motor still attached to the motor mount so I could see what I was doing to attach the new motor to the motor mount. Then reinstalled the whole assembly, plugged in it's wires with the supplied adapter and attached the new fan blade.

Refrigerator had hot door edges and door gaskets
Pulled refrigerator out, removed cardboard type lower panel, (7)- 1/4" screws, compressor was very hot, condenser fan motor was not spinning, rotated fan started spinning(fan spins very slowly no risk), at this time I put a window Box fan behind refrigerator to help cool down compressor, within 2 hours door edges and gaskets were cooling off, after finding Fix.com, I used my smart phone to take pictures of original fan , to get part #s, (works great).
Once parts arrived (about a week later, New fan blades and motor), pulled refrig back out unplugged electric cord, used 1/4" socket, removed old fan and bracket (4 screws) unplugged wire harness, removed fan/bracket assembly from under refrig, then removed (3) -1/4" screws holding motor to bracket, installed new motor to bracket, using same screws(fan came with new screws if needed) new motor came with a short wiring harness, one side fits new fan, other end supposed to fit original electric plug on refrig, but would not slip together, I had to remove center lug of new wire harness plug(no wire in center lug) scored with utility knife snapped center lug off, harness plugs slipped together, and clicked locking together, re-installed fan to bracket, slid fan blade onto motor shaft, re-installed fan/bracket assembly into original position , making sure wire and other tubes were back in original spaces, plugged in refrig cord,,new fan was on/spinning, used compressed air to blow out dust from under refrig(can be very dusty under there should be cleaned about every 6 months), re-installed cardboard lower panel and refig has worked great since, door edges and gaskets are now cool like normal !,,, Mark

Bearings on the condensor fan motor went out.
1. Pulled Frig from the wall to gain bottom rear access. 2. Disconnected the 110V power plug. 3. using either Phillips screwdriver or small socket drive remove 5 screws holding on the rear piece of cardboard at the bottom of the backside of the refrigerator. 4. locate the fan just on the inside. 5. disconnect electrical plug. this i s only a few inches from fan. 6. remove the three screws holding the fan motor to the housing. I left the fan blade on the old motor. after the three screws were removed the fan with blade came out pretty easily. 7. Next take the new motor and push on the new fan blade. Make sure it goes on all the way. It is connected by friction and the fan is plastic. It wouldn't be too hard to break the fan. If you do you could probably reuse the old plastic fan. 8. Next, find the electrical plug on the new motor and compare it to the old motor. Mine didn't match, but the kit I ordered from this site came with a connector the plugged in between. 9. So connect this before installing the fan. You will need to pay attention to how you install the new motor because it is symmetrical and may be rotated up to three ways to install. However, only one way will give the best clearance for the electrical plug with the new connector installed. 10. Holding the motor in place install the three screws. This isn't difficult if you've done a little small-space work before. you have to push in will turning the screws and holding a flashlight at the same time. Takes a little patience, but all in all its pretty easy. I did it alone and in 15mins. 11. After the motor is installed with fan then you should connect the other end of the electrical plug to the frig. 12. Next perform a test on the frig before putting the cardboard cover back into place. To do this simply connect the power plug to the 110v outlet and the fan should come on and spin smoothly within 5 secs. Observe it long enough to feel the job is done well. 13. Then disconnect the frig power outlet again and continue replacing the cardboard and the retaining screws. 14. Lastly, plug the frig back in and slowly push the frig back into place.

Noisy fan and longer running time
pull fridge out from wall, unplugged the old fan & condenser and plugged new one in. As per instructions they were perfect. Easily done if one is handy with tools.

condenser was making a loud noise
The motor I ordered had easy instructions to follow. The motor works fine .The only problem I had was getting my hands back in there to get the three screws out. my hands are on the large size. A twelve year could have did this much easier.
