Refrigerator upper and lower door cams on the door bottom were worn out. Door swings open without the usual stop.

Remove upper door hinge and lift door up and out of bottom hinge. Pry out both lower door cams if possible from the lower door. If not possible, break the lower door cam, and then grind out the plastic part of the old door cam from the refrigerator door. Install new upper and lower door cams and put some lite grease on them. Lower door onto bottom hinge and reinstall upper door hinge.

This is a side by side and the door was not easy to close. It did not line up with the freezer door.

Removed the top hinge and lifted the door off the bottom hinge. Used the socket wrench to remove screw and replaced both cams. Placed the door back and it closes perfectly now. It took longer to take the food out of the door and clean.

Refridgerator door making noise when opened.

I removed three screws from the top hinge of the door. Lifted the door up to free it from the male pin that forms part of the bottom hinge. Used a closed end wrench to remove the screw that secures the cam. Replaced cam securing it with the screw. Lifted the door back onto the pin forming the bottom hinge to secure the door. Replaced and tightened the three screws to secure the top hinge. It took about as long to do the repair as it did to write this review.

Door cam on vertical refrigerator door worn or broken

Ordered two parts, about $15.00. Followed internet instructions. Worked fine, just follow the video and make mental notes of how the original parts fit. One may need some leverage to "crack" one or more bolts. I used a spring clamp wrench attached to the shaft of the driver, since some of the bolts can't be accessed by a box wrench. Hand tighten bolts and check door clearance, you can make slight vertical adjustments to door, then complete task.
