What is the function of the air tower ?

Does the Air Tower have flap/door that is regulated by the frig temp control model that opens and closes to control the temperature in the refrigerator? I changed out the temp ctrl module and the frig temp stays a 40 degrees even if i put at the coldest setting. I also had to change out the Defrost control module because it was working. Any suggestions as to why the frig won't go below 40 degrees?

Hello Richard, thank you for contacting us. The air tower you mentioned is just an air channel for cold air and it does not have a flap door. The most probable cause of the problem is a faulty damper, part number FIX370936. It controls the cold airflow from the freezer compartment into the refrigerator compartment. We would also recommend checking the evaporator fan motor, part number FIX11749890. It circulates air through the fresh food compartment for efficient cooling.
