This refrigerator ice maker assembly is designed to automatically produce, eject, and store ice, restoring dependable ice production when an existing unit becomes slow, jammed, or stops working altogether. Operating on standard household voltage, it features a solid ice tray and integrated sensing components to support consistent cube formation and reliable operation. Supplied as a complete assembly with the motor, housing, and wiring connections, it replaces worn or malfunctioning ice makers that may cause issues such as little or no ice, frequent jams, leaking water, or undersized cubes. Installation is generally straightforward once power and water are disconnected, making this an effective solution for returning the refrigerator’s ice system to normal, consistent performance.

Ice maker keeps freezing up and won’t dispense ice
For model number RF28R6201SR
Hello John, thank you for reaching out. Based on our research, we would recommend checking the defrost heater, part number FIX9603661. A faulty defrost heater might be allowing excessive frost to build up on the evaporator coils and in the ice maker area itself. This lack of proper, regular defrosting leads to both the ice maker freezing up and the inability to dispense ice. You may need to replace it to fix the issue. We hope this solves your problem!
