Replace icemaker
Turn unit off.Remove ice bin.Cover the hole that dispenses ice to door,or might lose screws.Remove the 2 top screws and the ground screw at the bottom.Turn icemaker to expose the rear and the wire plug.Apply pressure using finger to the right side of plastic locking strip while pulling wire plug from unit.Hold the left side of the new icemaker and reverse the steps used to remove the old icemaker. Don't rush it. Turn icemaker on and select ice cubes' size.You can use cell phone to take step by step pictures of the old unit initial position and every step you took to remove it for visual help.

Maker would not make ice,a leak interrupted the stopping arm
You unscrew the 2 screws at the top, release the wiring harness ,and unscrew the groud screw. install in the reverse order.There is a u tube video under lg ice maker repair to illustrate the whole process

Icemaker stared leaking after overproducing ice for many months.
Unplugged the refrigerator and remove three screws (two very easy) the third which held the ground did not want to let go but finally. New ice maker works great. In my opinion even better than the original.
