Refrigerator stopped working

We installed the 2 parts that were recommended. Very easy after watching videos. The refrigerator still does not run. Oh well, it was worth a try. This site has been great at helping us fix other appliances, just not this one.

The coils kept freezing over solid and this caused the freezer to not keep food frozen.

First I removed all food from the freezer and fridge and placed it in a cooler with ice. I then completely defrosted the coils, which are behind the panel in the freezer. I then tipped the fridge enough to get 6" blocks under the two front wheels. This gave me access to the timer switch area. Then I took off the front bottom panel of the fridge. Then I removed the two screws holding the timer switch to the frame. I then had to use a large flat tip screwdriver to separate the fridge wiring harness plug from the timer switch plug. Even though this was somewhat easy I feel it should be able to come apart just by using my hands. After removing the old timer switch I then ensured the fridge wiring harness plug was clean and free of debris. I then performed all the previous steps in reverse order. I then plugged the fridge back in and put it back in place. After a few hours I checked on the coils and they had not frozen over and even defrosted a little which is what they are sup[posed to do. I have had no problems since.

Refrigerator wasn't cold, frost buildup in freezer

Followed the video. Very easy. My fridge is cooler, but still have the frost. So I may try the defrost thermostat later. I am happy with the results, saved me a lot of time and money.

Frequent on/off, would not come down to temp.

I followed the video, which was spot on. First removed the 1/4 inch nut screws in the rear of the cover, then the front (4 total), unplugged the cover by pressing in the tabs, removed the 2 screws that hold the timer to the cover, unplugged the defrost timer (that was the difficult part as the prongs are a tight fit). Put in the new timer, plugged it in (it only plugs in one way so you can't err), reattached it with the 2 screws, put the assembly back in the fridge, plugged it in, then reattached the 4 1/4 inch nut screws. You need a nut driver to do that. Although the new part looks a little different from the original (not as tall) it fit perfectly and my fridge is running like a fine tuned sports car. I'm glad I looked online for a solution and glad that I found this site. Very helpful and probably saved me a couple of hundred dollars.

Refrigerator stoped runing

Checked that the power was going to Frig. Turned the timed on. It worked, but the timer made it's time it would not start again. Removed one screw to lower the housing that contained the timer. Removed two screws that was on the timer (to hold it to the housing) Last step, replaced defrost timer. Refrigerator works like new again.
