The refrigerator is cooling but not going down low enough for it to be safe varies between 5.5 degrees and 8 degrees when it is set to 1 degree. I’ve checked the defrost heater and defrost thermostat and they both have continuity. The thermistor shows a resistance of 30.2 ohms after sitting in ice water for 10 minutes ( tested while in the water ) I’ve read that it should be 32 ohms. The fridge seems to be running
constantly. Do you think this would be the problem. There was some ice build up on the cooling coils but only on top part for about 5 inches. Or any other suggestions.
For model number FPRU19F8RFF
Hi Robert, thank you for getting in touch. At room temperature, it should measure 5,000-6,000 ohms. At 32 F somewhere around 15,000-16,000 ohms. If the reading is not correct, you will need to replace the temperature sensor, part number FIX1527511. We hope this information helps!
