This is an authentically sourced spring for a sander. Your sander has two of these springs, however it is sold as an individual part. It is part of the braking system and connects to the brake to keep the sanding pad at a slower orbit. For this repair, you will need to unscrew the pad on the sander to expose the brake. Then you will be able to pry the existing spring from the brake. Next, place the new spring in place so it clips into the grooves. You may need a flat-head screwdriver to ensure they are fastened securely. Reattach the brake and pad and your repair is complete.

This is a spring for your sander. It is known as a conical spring because it is cone shaped, and coiled. It is comparable to a compression spring because it stores energy by absorbing shock, and then releasing it, to maintain the force between two surfaces. The spring is a part of the muffler assembly in your sander. The muffler assembly reduces the noise coming from your machine. Over time the spring may lose tension and need replacing. If you are replacing your muffler assembly, or similar parts, we also recommend replacing the spring for an even wear.
