This is a genuine manufacturer-sourced replacement part which is specially designed for Bostitch staplers. The purpose of this piston bumper is to keep the piston from hitting the bottom of the cylinder and damaging it. Because this part gets so much abuse, over time it has a tendency to crack and fall apart.
