This is a genuine Ridgid replacement part that is OEM sourced to ensure a high-quality standard. The carbon brush is considered a wear item because it presses against the armature while it is rotating to transfer electricity to the armature. Worn brushes can cause issues with the motor like smoking or sparking. This brush is sold as an individual replacement part, please note two brushes are required.
