the old "screw cap" that holds the mixing bowl in place during use.
I removed the three screws (Phillip's head) holding the worn cap. Matched the new screw cap holes with the mixer stand, tapped the new screw cap down lightly with the mallet (a tight fit) and replaced the screws. Voila!

Original screw cap had bent and no longer secured the bowl
3 screws out. Clean screws. 3 screws back in. Done. 5 minutes max.

bowl would not stay anchored
Removed 3 screws with phillips head screwdriver, removed old base plate, installed new base plate with same 3 screws.
