This is a genuine manufacturer sourced replacement insert ring set designed for use with Craftsman miter saws. Inserts reduce splintering and chip-out on the cuts. It also prevents thin slices of wood from jamming in between the blade and the plate during a cut. If an insert is missing or damaged it needs to be replaced.
