This is a genuine OEM sourced replacement part which is specially designed for use with Black and Decker and DeWALT miter saws. The purpose of a carbon brush is to conduct the current in an electric motor by maintaining contact with an armature, unfortunately, over time the material will wear out eventually requiring a replacement to maintain peak performance. This high-quality carbon brush is sold individually, keep in mind the holder and the cap are both sold separately.
