A glass tray that jerks, tilts, or makes scraping sounds may have a damaged roller guide beneath it. The circular guide supports the tray and uses small wheels to help it turn smoothly while the microwave runs. Steady movement helps food heat more evenly and keeps the tray balanced. Before installing the replacement, clean crumbs and grease from the floor of the cooking area. Place the guide in the correct position around the center coupler, then set the glass tray on top. Turn the tray by hand to check its movement. Compare the ring size and wheel pattern with the original before purchase.
