An uneven deck or poor cut may point to a damaged rear hanger bracket. The bracket gives the deck a firm mounting and pivot point while allowing it to move over the lawn. First check for loose bolts, worn pins, bent lift arms, and cracks near the mounting holes. Match the replacement to the complete mower model and correct side. Set the parking brake, block the wheels, remove the key, and disconnect the spark plug wire. Lower and support the deck before removing the bracket, then tighten all hardware and check belt alignment before use.
