This authentic item is supplied by the original equipment manufacturer for Lawn Boy lawn mowers. The purpose of the traction cable is to engage the drive wheels. It is connected to the traction bail and then attached to the traction bracket near the transmission. This is an identical replacement for a damaged or a missing component that was installed on a new unit.
