This is a genuine item is supplied by the original equipment manufacturer for use with Ariens lawn mowers. It is the cable that stops the blade when the control handle is released. If the cable is broken it will cause the brake to not release even when the lever is pressed. It provides an identical replacement for a missing or a faulty component that was installed on a new unit.
