If a storage drawer keeps sliding open, its strike may be cracked, loose, or out of line. This small piece works with the latch to hold a laundry pedestal drawer closed. First check for loose screws, a bent drawer, blocked rails, or damage to the latch. A new strike will not fix a broken latch. Check the complete pedestal model number before ordering because similar drawers may use different shapes. Remove all items from the drawer and unplug the washer or dryer above it. Keep track of the strikes position during removal. After installation, push the drawer closed gently and make sure it stays shut without sticking.
