I broke this part on my harbor freight lathe by tightening it down too much
This part replaced the unavailable part on a Harbor Freight/Central Machinery mini lathe model: 65345
1: remove retaining ring on eccentric cam rod (I used needle nose pliers)
2: pull rod back to remove old broken bolt
3: put new bolt on the rod with the threads hanging down
4: push rod back through the hole and put re ... Read more taining ring back on
-this was the hardest part without a pair of retaining ring pliers. i put one side of the ring on, held it in place, then used NN pliers to pull it around the groove in the rod
5: place banjo/base assembly on lathe bed with threads hanging through the bed gap
6: put bed base clamp plate and lock nut back on the underside by hand. then tighten with nut driver or socket with extension
-when doing this, rotate the rod about 30 degrees from full disengage then tighten the nut down. if you have the handle rotated to full disengage when tightening, you wont be able to unlock it from the bed.
