This is a genuine OEM replacement part. This capacitor is commonly used in industrial fans and circulators. Most fans and circulators use single phase motors, which are a not self-starting. This means that the motor cannot start rotating the blades from a standstill. This capacitor creates another phase, and provides the torque needed to get the fan blades rotating. When you replace your capacitor make sure you are troubleshooting all of the symptoms, as often time a blown capacitor is a symptom of another problem.
