This Assembly is sourced directly from Hunter and is compatible with various Hunter Ceiling Fans. To ensure this kit fits your fan, please see the "Model Cross Reference List" below. This kit includes the assembly as well as the screws needed to replace your current light assembly. The Light Kit Assembly is responsible for the ceiling fan producing light. If the lights or the light switch/chain of your ceiling fan no longer work, it may be time to replace the Light Kit Assembly. The assembly is approximately 6"L and has two protruding wires that connect to your ceiling fan. Light Kit Assemblies are sold individually.

Fan Worked...Lights Didn't
The first step was to remove the old lighting kit from the fan's wire housing unit (first housing uncovered after removing fan's globe and lightbulbs). I tested to make sure I still had power in the unit which I did. After replacing the light kit, I found that the fan still worked...but the new light kit didn't. After researching Youtube videos, there is a common problem with Hunter fans where the fan will work but not the lights. I discovered that there is a small white resistor that burns out...thus cutting power off to the light kit. I removed the resistor, reconnected the new lighting kit to the appropriate wires, and put the housing unit back together.

After finding out what the REAL issue was...the process of repair was not that difficult.

Ceiling fan light fixture sheared off at threaded bar mount
Well, according to the questions on the sight and the answers to it I "thought" I was buying a standard light socket fixture but the product that was delivered as a candelabra light bulb fixture so in that sense, Fix.com FAILED. Wrong part information and had to go out and buy different bulbs. No I will be NOT joining the mailing list. Thanks for the added ballache. Read more...

The fan switch broke instead the plastic casing, the pull chain no longer worked.
I had to unsnap the light kid wires. This was the only real problem. There was no easy way to get the plastic cover connector to let go of the wires so I could connect them with the new wiring assembly to the fan. It was easy enough to unscrew the switch for the fan direction, but getting the 2 light wires to uncouple took extensive time to finally pry the plastic casing loose enough to pull out the wire. I asked 4 different people to try, including an electrician who said to cut the wires and skip the plastic casing protector. Total time I spent trying to get the two little casings to "let go" was, at a minimum 30 minutes pulling tugging, trying to find something I could trigger to release any snapping mechanism that was holding the wires securely (very securily) in place. I finally managed to get the wires to release, after that it was basic simply assembly of the fan kit, light kit plugged back into the main unit and putting the chains and glass bowl over the lights. I AM DELIGHTED to finally be able to get the part I've needed for over 5 years, no one on the web could help me, after posting at Hunter online site, I got the part number (6 months later) I tracked the part to the Fix website, ordered it and it was shipped and arrived quickly. Yay to FIX for being the fastest part of my solution. Read more...
