This clamshell assembly is an authentic Dewalt replacement part. It is supplied from original equipment manufacturer for use with hammer drills. This set contains both the left and the right sides of the drills housing. Please note the hardware that holds the clamshell together is not included, it is sold separately. These parts are made out of durable plastic with a rubberized grip on the handle. To replace this clamshell set you will need a torx screwdriver. • First you want to remove the battery • Then remove the end cap and the gear case • Now you can remove the clamshell screws • Carefully separate two pieces of the housing • Transfer the internal components • Install the new clamshell • Transfer the bit holders • Secure the gear case • Attach the end cap • Secure the battery
